Self-proclaimed Syrian ‘Mountain Roots Rock’ band, TootArd, are nostalgic in their newest single, ‘Emotional Twist’, which sees the natives of Golan Heights move away from their Levantine-rooted sound and towards the sounds of 80s Arab disco. Coming as the second single from their upcoming album, Migrant Birds, the synth-driven track is retro, carefree and fun, with the group playfully exploring love, loss and music.

Despite the disco-inspired sounds of this track, TootArd are mainly known for being inspired by  Levantine melodies, reggae music and desert rock. The band was founded by sibling duo, Hasan and Rami Nakhleh, who studied classical Arabic music, and later incorporated elements of heavy metal, jazz and more into their music, making for a unique and distinct sound that has seen them gain a global fanbase.

Migrant Birds is set for release on May 29th on Glitterbeat Records.
