‘Bad Boy of Palestinian Ambient’ Mhauesh Drops Reggaeton-Inspired New Single ‘Waheed’
The Palestinian producer channels some unexpected Latin American influences on this latest release.

Palestinian electronic producer, and self-dubbed ‘bad boy of Palestinian ambient’, Mhauesh, has looked further afield for his latest single, ‘Waheed’, which has more than a hint of reggaeton to it. On the back of his production work on Jowan Safadi’s recent album, Ijmad, the track arrives as Mhauesh’s first solo production since his 2018 solo LP, Devil’s Drool.

Behind a metallic reggaeton-tinged rhythm section, guiro-like shakers and uplifting synthesised chords, Mhauesh’s vocals spin the track into an almost trance-like groove, with an upbeat bounce accentuated by an array of crisp percussion hidden throughout the mix.
