Adam Nabeel Looks to His East African Roots for New Dancehall-Inspired Tune ‘Thunder’
Exploring the dancehall sound most recently explored on his last single ‘Friendly’, Adam Nabeel’s latest release has the makings of a dancefloor sleeper-hit.

Los Angeles-based Omani/East African rapper and producer, Adam Nabeel, returns for his first single of 2021, following up last November’s upbeat dancehall single ‘Friendly’ with a further exploration of the genre on ‘Thunder’. Blending his affinity towards melodic trap with percussion inspired by his East African roots, Nabeel’s production on ‘Thunder’ brings together rumbling 808s, spacey reverb-soaked melodies, and simple organic percussion that definitely bolsters the tropical vibe curated throughout the song.

The relatively simple music video for ‘Thunder’ presents a brief window into Nabeel’s background as a producer, featuring a silhouette shot of the rapper in his neon-lit studio beneath a subtle layer of added motion blur.
