Amidst the atrocities Lebanon has endured in recent months, a group of Lebanese musicians has come together to create tracks for a new compilation album, ‘Land 01’. This album, produced by Lebanese music collective Tunefork, aims to support displaced communities in Lebanon.
Released exclusively on the independent music platform Bandcamp, ‘Land 01’ features 37 tracks, including previously released pieces and newly recorded compositions created specifically for the album. Among the featured artists are former Mashrou’ Leila frontman Hamed Sinno, Julia Sabra and Fadi Tabbal of Snakeskin, Kid Fourteen, Liliane Chlela, Yara Asmar, Etyen, June As, Hany Manja, and Sary Moussa.
Additional contributions come from Sharif Sehnaoui and Tony Elieh, Rhea Dally, Nour Sokhon, Nadia Daou and Paed Conca (The Mad Laboratory of Anti-Matter), Flugen, Elyse Tabet, Claudia Khachan, Charbel Haber, Bana Haffar, and Akram Hajj.
“All funds will go to the Beirut Synth Center and Tunefork Studios initiative for the displaced in Lebanon,” Tunefork said. “Despite the ceasefire, many people remain displaced, and even those who have returned home are living in damaged spaces with no electricity, water, heating, or secure doors and windows. The initiative will continue to raise funds to provide winter clothing and heaters, while also fulfilling ongoing needs for blankets, mattresses, and pillows,”
