We’re back with a new edition of our Shuffle playlist, rounding up the region’s most compelling releases to land over the Christmas and New Year’s break across various genres and styles, an early snapshot of where the year’s sound is headed.

Egyptian veteran Maryam Saleh pushes her upcoming album rollout forward with ‘Wanas’, while Amro Zidan expands his exploration of warped, psychedelic textures on the experimental cut ‘Catch Me’, and Moroccan-Egyptian rapper Perrie returns in full command with ‘Style’, co-produced by Money Miners. From Lebanon, Ray Uno threads punchy electro-pop with poignant Arabic lyrics on ‘Baadouni, Akhadouki’ from his EP Law Chou Ma Sar, alongside singer-songwriter Michel Maouad’s ‘Mount Lebanon’, a quietly confessional moment from his alternative solo record Good Thing We Cleaned the Stairs, produced by Fadi Tabbal and Roger Zouein.

The playlist also includes Jordanian rap star El Far3i with ‘Dallik Malak’ from his latest EP Remake, the mystical electronic collaboration ‘Mahragan’ by Bakharosami, Raz Moussa and Waleed Shah from The Book Of, and Moroccan-Belgian producer Camacho tapping into early-2010s dance music on ‘Dima4dunya’.
