SceneNoise’s multi-genre releases playlist is back this week, highlighting the best new music from across the MENA region including stand-out tracks by the likes of Seera, Molotof and Zeyne.
On the playlist we see one of the most exciting collaborations of the year between Egyptian producer El Waili and Saudi psychedelic band Seera on their new track, ‘Nafas’. Despite the seemingly different approaches of the two acts, their music feels aligned at its core as lo-fi sounds meet subdued psychedelic arrangements. Jordanian-Palestinian artist Zeyne makes a powerful statement with her new double-single ‘7arrir 3a2lak / Asly Ana’, chronicling her Arab identity with powerful and commanding vocal performances set against larger-than-life instrumentation that blends Levantine folk music with theatrical elements.
