Riff & The Synaptik Drop Funky Hip-Hop Single ‘Walla 3ad Farigli’
The collaboration we never knew we needed.

Egyptian multi-instrumentalist and producer Riff has teamed up with Jordanian-Palestinian rapper The Synaptik on a joint single, ‘Walla 3ad Farigli’. Released on The Synaptik’s independent imprint Milq Records, the track reconfigures lo-fi hip-hop with jazzy production and a funk-inflected backbone.
Riff builds a dynamic sonic foundation: a supple groove that leaves space for The Synaptik’s unmistakably carefree yet introspective flow. He delivers clever, humorous bars about his solitude on the musical road, while asserting his independence and brushing aside the idea of needing companionship. Though the track leans toward a softer, more off-kilter groove than his usual fare, Riff’s penchant for shaabi textures still surfaces in the tabla hits and drum kicks, while a flute line sneaks in during the outro. The track is accompanied by a retro VHS music video, shot on a handycam by Maggie Doueihi, featuring candid moments of The Synaptik with his friends.
‘Walla 3ad Farigli’ fuses the distinct sensibilities that define both artists into an effortless, unexpected chemistry, the sort of collaboration we never knew we needed.
