The latest edition of Rap of the Week, our weekly playlist highlighting standout new releases across the region’s hip-hop scene, features picks from Egyptian heavyweights like Abo El Anwar and Afroto, along with North African MCs like L’morphine.
The playlist includes Abo El Anwar presenting his own take on rage rap with ‘Eh Ya Andal’, and Egyptian rising star Nasair teaming up with Algerian veteran Savage Plug on ‘Etfadaly’.
Alexandria-born artist Goubi comes through with an experimental rap tune, ‘El Qaysar’, while Afroto taps back into his rap era with ‘El 3a2la Ahm She2’. We also have Moroccan rapper and songwriter L’morphine with ‘Sinine’ from his new mixtape MC3.
