Rap of the Week | Oct 13 - Oct 19

SceneNoise's flagship playlist spotlighting standout releases from the MENA region’s rap and hip-hop scene, 'Rap of the Week’, returns with a selection bringing together fresh drops from regional mavericks like The Synaptik and local stars like Lil Alex.

Moroccan rapper and singer NovaQueen joins forces with German-Moroccan rapper Silva on ‘Ghorba’, a blend of traditional pop sensibilities and Maghrebi folk that confronts the hardships faced by undocumented migrants from underprivileged backgrounds, from limited opportunities to the struggle to afford life’s most basic necessities.

Egyptian rapper Slyver pushes his signature sound into more aggressive territory on PV2.0, unleashing relentless flows across four dense, confrontational tracks. Meanwhile, Lil Alex follows up his controversial single ‘Matmarsh’ with ‘Had Y2olhom’, featuring Rashed - another punchy, irresistibly addictive trap cut.

Rounding out this week’s selection are ‘Shayateen’ by Billy Tstrk and Waja33, ‘Zanana’ by MC Abdul, and ‘Da3ini’ by The Synaptik.
