On this edition of Rap of The Week, we bring you brand-new regional releases from the likes of Egyptian rap star Marwan Moussa, whose latest album ‘Import//Export’ explores both Western and Arabic hip-hop sonics. We also feature the latest from Dzel Uzi and Arsenik, who have just released their latest summer bop ‘De Bruyne’, where they take turns delivering laid back flows over the feelgood instrumental.
Saudi Arabian rapper Jeed also makes an appearance on the playlist, teasing his upcoming EP ‘Butter’ with his latest single ‘Never Last', where his energetic vocal delivery contrasts the smooth beat produced by A’ Y. Meanwhile, up-and-coming Egyptian rapper Badran teams up with seasoned producer Sintax on ‘Mazboot’ where he shows off his air-tight flows over a simple yet catchy instrumental.
With his latest release ‘Ethanol’, produced by Kaddy, rising Egyptian rapper Mahdy also makes his way into our weekly selection, showcasing a wide range of flows over an inventive instrumental full of experimental audio processing and sound selection.
