We’re getting used to it by now. Is there anyone better to cook up an anthem for the summer other than offrami? Doubt it. Now that the sun is staying out and beach parties are back after a long-anticipated return, the Lebanese-born DJ and producer, who recently signed with the mighty Spinnin’ Records label, has released ‘Resist Your Love’, a new track featuring Mougleta for us to dance our ways into the second half of the summer.

Last April, the LA-based artist had already teased a first sun-soaked single, ‘Drunk Callin’, which was also released under Robin Schultz’s Mentalo label and went on to rack up over 3 million listens on Spotify alone. This time, offrami decided to stick to the same game plan with a usual snappy, upbeat and deep-house influenced beat, a rapid bpm as well as a sizzling warm voice carried by none other than the DJ’s now partner in crime, the Canadian singer and songwriter Mougleta.“It's always a great time working with Mougleta, we both come from the same place so it always feels right,” offrami says as he speaks with Scene Noise. “With this song, we decided to do something a little different and I hope everyone enjoys it.”

In light of the current political precariousness across the region, music has served as many people’s blissful personal getaway moment, and ‘Resist Your Love’s warm tone helps you embark on it. Paradoxically, the song, which is uplifting in spirit and rhythm, bears sombre lyrics. A gentle reminder of how love is always a losing game, the Berlin-based Mougleta personifies the mood by comfortably lending her voice to both chorus and verses in an impressive and compelling vocal effort.

“‘Resist Your Love’ talks about the reality of falling for someone you know is not right for you,” says offrami, trying to explain that “it's that unexplainable dark feeling you have deep inside of you, that only they can tap into and make it okay.”

Weaving percussion, synth chords and bass lines all together in one layered song, offrami’s latest musical production is one to fully enjoy and experience in the moment. Fresh and inevitably smooth and cool, both artists' latest delivery is not only making magic, but making all of our heads bop too.
