Yal Solan the Lebanese ‘spiritual pop’ singer-songwriter and animator just released her first solo single ‘Silent Fireworks’, taking ethereal and dreamy aesthetics to a whole new realm. She first made her debut appearance in the region for the Lebanese TV series ‘Salon Zahra’ (2021) on the track “Chou” alongside the producer and composer Mike Massy.
Acknowledging that we are living in an egocentric system, her song writing tackles themes of self-reflection and empowerment, aspiring to reach her listeners’ unfiltered inner Id. The artist combines her visual inclination with song-writing to convey this message. About the song, Solan told SceneNoise: ‘The song celebrates that moment of illumination when the answers we seek effortlessly appear once we slow down and listen’. She then describes her genre, ‘spiritual pop’, as a blend of occidental influences combining elements not attributed to just one specific origin, and drawing from eastern philosophies.
Growing up in the socioeconomic turmoil of modern-day Beirut with all the anxiety that comes with it, the singer believes that we need more music that invites a form of escapism, allowing the listener to dream. The ethereal tour de force is now available on all streaming platforms.
