Mohammed Al-Attas is one of the founders of The Warehouse, a community-driven music lounge and creative space in Riyadh’s Jax District that has been paving the way for a new generation of MENA sounds to come, offering rising Saudi artists across all genres a platform to showcase their talent and grow their audience.
Established in 2022, The Warehouse was born out of Mohammed’s own experience as a struggling rising artist scouring the nation for suitable spaces where he could perform or practice his music. With his background in sound engineering, he turned The Warehouse into a music hub that does free mixing and records multi-recording tracks for every artist who comes to perform. Through their services, they help artists create a digital library and content to get more booking opportunities locally and regionally.
Earlier last year, in 2023, The Warehouse joined the General Entertainment Authority’s acceleration program in efforts to grow the space into a more sustainable environment to nurture emerging Saudi talents and help them launch their professional careers. The venue also launched a digital library titled ‘TWH Introduces’ that showcases all of the diverse talents who grace their stage.
In this edition of XP Conversations Saudi Spotlight, Al-Attas tells us how The Warehouse aims to make the music profession more sustainable for artists, and help emerging Saudi talents to grow and get more bookings opportunities.
