Recording MENA is SceneNoise’s new series featuring the recording studios and production houses keeping the gears turning in the MENA region’s music industry. In this edition, we take a look at Scratch Productions, which has been providing its services in Cairo for over 14 years.
Meanwhile, Scratch Productions has been at the forefront of live music in Egypt since 2008, having hosted and organised events for industry legends such as Tamer Hosny, Mohamed Adaweya, Black Theama, Esseily, Sharmoofers, Hakim, Disco Misr and many more.
The production house also offers a wide array of services, such as DJing and music production courses taught by experienced instructors such as award-winning Ghost Producer Jaadu, Aguizi & Fahim and graduates of the programme, ISSA & ASSOUAD. The DJ course offers a comprehensive curriculum that teaches beginners everything they need to know in 10 classes, while the music production course will enable students to master their software of choice.
Located in Sheraton Heliopolis, Scratch Productions is home to a fully equipped recording studio. The space is suitable for music and vocal production, with artists like Ahmed Saad, who have recorded at Scratch in the past. The production house also offers mixing and mastering along with a ghostwriting service, which provides clients with the option for its team of professional songwriters to compose music and lyrics.
In 2023, Scratch Productions will be taking on even more ambitious feats, as its recently established record label promises to make a mark on the Egyptian music scene.
