ADAD is a series of events in Rawabet Theater as a collaboration between Cimatheque, Mada Masr, Megawra, Townhouse Gallery and 100Copies. This Wednesday Mada will be hosting a panel discussion featuring talks on Arab music history, radio and the right to broadcast, the music archive and the copyright, the Internet as a platform for audio expression and sound as the first draft of journalism. Throughout the evening, there will be a series of conversations among musicians, journalists and broadcasters, as well as sound and music performances. Below is the roster of performers and speakers:

Abdel Rahman Hussein, journalist and founder of dandin.me 

Ahmed Kamal, founder of Gramafone online radio

Mustafa Said, musician and director of Arab Music Archiving and Research Foundation

The panel will be moderated by Mahmoud Refat, founder of 100Copies

Entrance is free

The event will be preceded by a workshop on audio production (storytelling through sound and basic editing). The workshop is offered to 10 people (journalists, artists, bloggers) on a first come first serve basis. Interested participants can send an email to lattalah@madamasr.com with a letter of interest. The workshop will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on April 30, in Rawabet theater.
