Massar Egbari is one of those bands with a message. Which means you have to take them seriously.  Dubbing their socially concious soundtrack 'Alternative Egyptian' they mix Rock, Jazz and Blues with Oriental music. For the khawagat amongst you who are simply desperate to know what Massar Egabri means... go learn English. No! We joke! Massar Egbari means Compulsory Track.

The band came together in 2005, long before the revolution. Back then life was really crappy and people were forced to do things against their will. As opposed to now, when everything is just perfect and flowery and we all live in a fairy world of loveliness. So the name was intended to reflect, and we quote, "How society forces people to lead their lives in a particular way." 

Which begs the question, will they now be forced to change their name? Will their lyrics mean anything any more? Are we all delusional? Only THEY know the answers. Go check them out! The ticket only costs 50LE so even if you don't find out what the meaning of life is, you'll still have change spare for a McDonalds combo.
