Tuesday December 16th 8pm

Sharif Sehnaoui & Raed Yassin of Beirut's "A TRIO" will be performing with Alan Bishop (from Cairo's Invisible Hands). They will be playing songs from their upcoming Annihaya album "Burj el Imam" by A Trio w/Alan Bishop.

Sharif Sehnaoui is a free improvising guitarist. He plays both electric & acoustic guitars, with (or without) extended and prepared techniques, focusing on expanding the intrinsic possibilities of these instruments without the use of effects or electronics. In addition to his music, he founded the Irtijal festival that he has been managing since 2001 and runs several record labels.

Raed Yassin is an essential figure in the Lebanese experimental music scene. A large part of his discography revolves around deconstructing Arabic popular culture. His solo projects include electro acoustic compositions, electronics, Arabic turntablism, as well as a highly individualistic extended technique on double-bass. He is a founding member of Irtijal Festival and Annihaya records.

Alan Bishop is a co-founder of US Experimental group Sun City Girls and Record label Sublime Frequencies. He also records and performs solo as Alvarius B. and is now based in Cairo with his group The Invisible Hands.
