Select 042: Mixed by Basel Aly

This week’s select comes courtesy of Cairo’s DJ/producer Basel Aly, who has the support of legendary DJs such as Sasha and Danny Tenaglia. With 10 years in the game and signings on iconic labels like Ultra Music, Golden Wings and Iconyc, the young spinner knows how to deliver a silky smooth, flawless set without no sudden rise or drop in the energy levels. When it comes to the sound he plays, Basel describes it as “from house to techno, and everything in between,” which is obvious in the set. From the dubby to the melodic side of deep house, and tracks by the likes of Roy Rosenfeld, Toman, Londonground and Sébastien Léger, the set is an easily digestible mixture of house sub-genres.
