One of the most versatile, musically and technically gifted artists to emerge from within the Lebanese dance music movement over the past several years has been Roland Bachour aka Rolbac. He established his reputation by becoming a regular on international labels like Kindisch, Einmusik, Cohesive and homegrown imprints like Fantôme de Nuit and Feed A Soul.
Fresh off the release of his two newest productions, ‘Unwrinkle’ [Einmusik] and
‘Fantasies’ [Feed A Soul] alongside SceneNoise favorite 3LIAS, Roland graces us with a an immensely enjoyable selection of house gems. This mix is a true testament to his digging abilities, and completely strays away from his usual, deep house-infused style of productions.
The set maintains impeccable flow and timing throughout as Rolbac drops beautiful cuts from Ice & Sphere, S. Moreira, Onur Özer, Lee Burton and Youandewan to complement each other. He browses through the catalogues of labels like Lyssna, RoundQube, Rutilance and Slow Life in the process, shedding light on some often overlooked B-sides. Basically, we have a long list of things to commend Bachour for here, but we’ll keep it short and wish him a happy birthday.
