Hizz Ya Wizz (no relation to Cairo/Detroit-based record label HIZZ) is a Amman/Berlin-based music community and platform focused on highlighting Shaabi, Folk and Electronic music from around the Middle East and North Africa region. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hizz Ya Wizz was a monthly party series in Berlin, and has now shifted online in order to support their roster of musicians, producers, and DJs while also broadcasting their sessions to listeners around the world.
Since their launch, Hizz Ya Wizz has featured Upper-Egypt’s trobby mahraganat pioneer Abosahar, Istanbul-based Syrian DJ, Sophicue, indie musician, Khaled Zghool, and more on their regular lineup and rotation of resident DJs.
