Renowned Australian DJ, producer, promoter and curator, James Locksmith, has enjoyed an eventful career on both the artistic and entrepreneurial fronts. From performing alongside the likes of Kenny Dope, Nightmares On Wax, Gilles Peterson and Nicolas Jaar, to moving to Dubai in 2011 and kicking off the DUST parties, and collaborating on projects like SATWA 3000, Analog Room, MUTEK, Sole DXB, Art Dubai and Groove On The Grass. These aforementioned achievements have undoubtedly given Locksmith a great deal of regional influence.
James is currently on the lookout for regional artists, producers and acts to take to the Land Down Under for his latest collaboration with Australia’s Electronic Music Conference (EMC), taking place in November of this year, where he’s been invited as one of the event’s main curators. Not only will Locksmith be discussing the huge growth of the Middle Eastern music scene, but he’ll be picking a handful of regional artists to join in on panels, workshops, collaboration projects and performances for an all-expenses-paid trip to showcase their work.
While the primary focus is on electronic music, indie acts, hip hop, beats producers and bands can also apply. Interested bands, artists and acts should send their bio, EPK and links to info@jameslocksmith.net with the subject line “EMC Australia 2019 ‘Artist Name’.”
