The European-Egyptian Contemporary Music Society (‘EECMS’) hosts its 6th edition of Cairo Contemporary Music Days in Cairo from April 14th until April 29th. EECMS will be hosting this event with the help of the Goethe Institute, the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, the American University in Cairo, and the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.

EECMS is an institution that aims to promote contemporary music in Egypt by cultivating a relationship with cultural and institutions. It is an associate member of the International Society of Contemporary Music (‘ISCM’).

The Cairo Contemporary Music Days (‘CCMD’) is a platform that encourages international exchange. The theme this year is German-Arab collaboration with a focus on Egyptian music given Germany’s emergence as one of the most important hubs for contemporary music (more specifically Berlin). CCMD will feature ‘Music Talks on a Gallery Tour’ in conjunction with the recitals giving the audience a chance to interact with the guest artists. The music talks are free of charge and open to the public.
