Indijam & Maktub to Host Nile-Side Event ‘Aswat El Nile’ October 23rd

Cairo’s Indijam and Maktub are joining forces to host ‘Aswat El Nile’, an open-air musical gathering taking place along the serene, green banks of Al Fardous Island on October 23rd.

Timed to make the most of the city’s pleasant autumn weather, the afternoon event offers an immersive escape from Cairo’s concrete bustle via a scenic boat ride across the water to the island sanctuary. Designed as an unhurried celebration of roots music and community, the gathering will feature live performances tracing iconic soundscapes from Cairo up the river to Nubia and Sudan.

The musical lineup highlights three distinct live acts, opening with the signature Cairo-born reggae rhythms of Meshwar, followed by the vibrant Nubian sounds of High Dam, and culminating in the soulful, heritage-rich Sudanese melodies of vocalist Aziza El Fatih. Attendees can enjoy continuous live sets punctuated by social breaks, complete with fresh river breezes and complimentary specialty coffee brewed on-site by Reqaf for all ticket holders.

Boat crossings to Al Fardous Island begin at 2:00 PM, with live musical sets running from 3:30 PM until the event concludes at 6:30 PM. Tickets are available through the link in Indijam’s instagram bio.
