Hamdi Toukbari aka Hamdi Ryder, has been a staple of and one of the main forces behind Tunisia’s bustling house music scene thanks to his Downtown Vibes party series and Eddisco record store that he launched alongside partner Aymen Ghannoudi. Apart from vitalizing the house culture in Tunisia, Hamdi is also a standout DJ/producer who, through his own platforms, has managed to propel himself as an artist, while playing countless intimate gigs abroad and around his home country.
Toukbari took to social media yesterday to share his impressive rework of iconic Lebanese singer Fairuz’s ‘Al Bosta’, which completely transformed the song into a jacking house cut worthy of the most packed dance floors. Hamdi included a message with the release stating that, “Fayrouz's voice has always made your mornings sound sweet and uplifting, and by this track I hope it makes your nights sound both nostalgic and energizing.”
The remix is available as a free download on Bandcamp, and it comes with a signature artwork, courtesy of Tunisian multidisciplinary artist and founder of experimental brand Fichier Caché - Nyzar Trabxlsi, sporting one of his famous smiley faces.
