Iran’s Layla Kardan Gets Dark in New Track & Video ‘Loyalty’ Ahead of Upcoming EP

Inching closer to release, Dubai-based Iranian singer-songwriter, Layla Kerdan, has given another taste of her upcoming EP, Abscission, with a new track and an accompanying pristine video featuring costume design by avant-garde NYC-based designer, Oraz, and starring Kardan alongside models Sami Abdullah and Dale Pickering.

Written by songwriters Juan Ariza and Miette Hope, ‘Loyalty’ pairs lovesick melodies with a dark and moody beat — also produced by Ariza —  that blends trap inspired distorted percussion and rumbling bass synths with soulful neo-R&B piano chords and intricately layered vocals courtesy of Kardan herself.
