The runaway
train that is Egypt’s fusion of trap and mahraganat isn’t stopping anytime
soon. Aside from the scene’s heavyweights, there are countless young artists auto-tuning
their way into the spotlight. Two of them, R-Rhyme and Xiety 7, are certainly
no newbies and diehard fans of the genre will know them, the prolific Xiety 7 in particular, following his work with the likes of Wegz and Abyusif. For the rest of Egypt
and the Middle East, the two artists, who both produce and sing/rap on the regular,
have come together for ‘Mazda’. The track is uncluttered, it’s beat and bass deep and heavy. The proverbial bells and whistles that usually season a trap/mahraganat
track, meanwhile, are dialled own as the two ponder life in music .
