Egyptian Techno Producer Kaamzs Unveils new EP Zero Fucking Feelings on French Label Industrial Violence
The EP features a selection of massive techno belters; this one is for the purists.

Karim Sadek (a.k.a Kaamz) is a co-founder and essential part of Red Sea Records, a recently launched Egyptian record label focusing primarily on hard, industrial techno. This latest three-track offering Zero Fucking Feelings, goes above and beyond previous expecations in a high-tempo, 18-minute journey through massive kicks, distorted samples and ominous synth work.

The ironically titled first track ‘Kindly Calm Down’, is everything but what it’s name would imply, grabbing listeners’ attention through wailing sirens and speaker-breaking kick drums. Track two, ‘et toi’ takes things up a notch, upping the aggression and bringing in intensely disorienting vocal samples before switching things up in the breakdown where Kaamz displays incredible range by shifting the track into a distorted drum-and-bass direction, dialing up the energy levels well past ’11’.
The third track, ‘MACHIJNISM’ completes the unholy trinity of Zero Fucking Feelings through a full on dive into modern industrial techno, with all it’s cacophonous percussion and massively overdriven distortion. If one critique can be made of this latest, is that it lacks a certain subtlety in introducing new compositional elements, instead taking a brute-force approach to production, though this may not necessarily be a bad thing if high-energy industrial tempo is your forte.
As Kaamz and the Red Sea Records roster continues their stream of releases and guest appearances through 2020, as seen through this latest EP on French label Industrial Violence, the fledgeling label continues to push a harder side of techno not often explored by other Egyptian contemporaries, who often lean towards melodic techno and other more accessible genres.
