Egyptian Rapper Abo El Anwar Releases New Track from Upcoming EP ‘Faqret El Sa7el’

With his upcoming EP, Faqret El Sa7el, already marked as one of the biggest releases on the Egyptian underground hip-hop calendar, the gaze of the rap scene is very much locked onto one Abo El Anwar.

While casual fans will know him best from his collaboration with fellow Egyptian rapper, Abyusuf, in 2019’s ‘Basha E3temed’, Abo El Anwar’s numbers speak volumes – six videos on YouTube have yielded an impressive 3.5 million-plus views.

Produced by frequent collaborator, Lil Baba, his latest track, ‘Barat’, is – at the time of publishing – the number three trending video in Egypt, and has fans rubbing their hands with glee at this upcoming EP. As has become his trademark, the track is dripping with humour and while the video is a short on concept, it’s certainly big on character.
