Canadian-Egyptian singer/rapper, Ramriddlz, has always been an enigma in the current rap zeitgeist, first bursting onto the scene with his surprise R&B/dancehall fusion hit, ‘Sweeterman’, which was later remixed by Drake. Drizzie’s appreciation aside, Ramriddlz went on to maintain a cult following, thanks to his cheekily crude and confident lyrical style, and a slew of viral tunes like ‘Bodmon’ and ‘Habaesha’.

Near the end of last year the Champagne Papi himself gave Ramriddlz one hell of a shoutout on instagram, attributing to him the rise of dancehall within the western rap scene. Now, Ramriddlz is back with his first Arabic-language musical effort, bringing his signature dancehall-flavoured sonics (courtesy of collaborating producers Jaegen and miabrstact) back to the motherland for the first time.

The music video, directed by Youssef Ramzy, perfectly captures Ramriddlz’s comedic musicality, showcasing the young performer and his latest bae across a variety of scenic locales across cairo, with a hazy, almost dreamlike atmosphere that melds well with the song’s overall lovestruck themes.
