Taxi 404, the French-language trio from Lebanon fusing hip-hop and pop, make another splash with the contagiously buoyant funk-infused new single ‘Soleil’ accompanied by a frivolous endless-summer video.

The band, whose inspirations include a varied collection of the likes of Serge Gainsbourg, Frédéric Chopin, and Kendrick Lamar, appear to be channelling Polo & Pan as they flash their whimsical side in taking to the beach and flexing the dynamism of their sound, adopting a more playfully upbeat electro-pop attire in a quintessentially and simply joyful release.
It would be too early to declare a change of musical direction by the trio, which is composed of Amin Zorkot, Andy Rustom, and Hanna Yazbeck, but as they take viewers across an imagined blissful voyage ahead of their second EP ‘Deux’, their giddy embrace of play in a candid video directed by Léa Skayem shows that they are not above a bit of silliness.
