Omar Fayyad’s New EP is a Lush After-Hours House Treat
Released on Saudi label Gabu Records, 'Rhythm & Chord' dives into the subtler side of minimal electronic music.

Egyptian DJ and producer, Omar Fayyad, a key figure in Dubai’s underground electronic scene, has released a new EP, ‘Rhythm & Chord’ on Saudi label Gabu Records.
The three-track record slips into the subtler side of minimal electronic music, built around warm basslines and deep after-hour house grooves. The titular track is a chill head-nodding tune, delicately shifting percussion and tonal layers, while ‘Traces of You’ gets more breezy, but with a mellow side to it. The production is smooth, incorporating jazz and funk influences over a steady 4/4 crisp drum pattern and a meditative house progression.
As the name suggests, the ‘Rhythms & Chord’ EP plays on foundations of deep house, showcasing Fayyad’s sharp precision and sophisticated production approach with juicy hypnotic grooves. It feels like a soft landing or a limbo between fatigue and euphoria in the looser AM moments of a festival bender.
