Tunisian singer, Emel, leads an impassioned cry for justice in Palestine alongside Brussels-based conscious rapper, Code Rouge, in a new track, ‘Horizon’.
Written over 10 years ago in Brussels, the pair felt obliged to release the song and video for the embattled Palestinian people following the recent crisis in Sheikh Jarrah and in the airstrikes against Gaza. Dedicated to the victims of the Freedom Flotilla, a Turkish boat carrying aid for Gaza in which nine campaigners were killed by Israeli forces in 2010, the impassioned track and emotionally-charged video send a message of solidarity with victims of the occupation.
Emel saw reason for hope as she recognised an “unprecedented amount of support to the Palestinians worldwide,” but maintained that the struggle continues, calling upon artists to realise their duty and speak up for Palestinian justice.
