Ahead of the release of his upcoming album ‘Aftermath’, Moe Hani - also known as Dirty Backseat - teases the project with a new music video, ‘Lonely Night’. The multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter is highly regarded for his original retro musical direction, synth-fuelled and full of emotional sentiment.
Kicking off with a filtered retro-synth drum-programming which slowly shows its colors, ‘Lonely Night’ embraces a synth-heavy direction which gracefully portrays Backseat’s sonic direction. The use of a heavily-reverberated nasal synth pulls the listener’s attention, serenading through the flood of synthesizers being utilized. The mysterious feeling of the single accommodates Dirty Backseat’s poetic direction and the entire idea of the ‘Lonely Night’.
The video sees Backseat roaming through the city as he reminisces about what looks like an intense argument. Director Sammy Sayed preferred to keep the direction abstract, leaving it all up to the audience’s interpretation. The use of extreme close-ups puts an emphasis on the emotions being portrayed throughout the video, with the actors embracing a dull and kind-of anxious outlook.
