Independent London-based Egyptian singer Aley Baracat released a reflective, sombre introduction single ‘Bedayati’ ahead of his debut EP of the same title. Invoking a grounded attachment to the past, his debut single teases with the melodious, traditional strings oriented to complement the gentle tap of a darbuka.Accompanying the song is an indie-style music video, stirring a sense of reminiscence with its faint saturation and imbued in symbolism representing the seven other conceptual styles listeners can expect to hear throughout the EP’s remaining songs.
“The whole album is a snapshot of my personal journey trying to see myself through my own eyes and reconnect with my inner voice,” Aley tells SceneNoise. “The upcoming songs are totally different,” he says, with the EP to exhibit a range of alternative, indie, and pop songs.
