Ahead of her upcoming EP launch party at Cairo Jazz Club on August 27th, we sat down with Egyptian singer and visual artist Rola Zeyada to talk about her new record Somewave that was written and produced between the two cities of New York and Cairo. Working with the likes of Moe Hani of alternative rock outfit Dirty Back Seat, Zeyada's album is expected to infuse eclectic, genre-crossing productions with the singer's personal and expressive songwriting.

Shot in NYC, Zeyada's latest video single 'Fumbles' taken off Somewave represents a point in time for the young artist, where she started finding her own voice as a singer and a visual artist where the video strolls through the city of New York like a mind-map of sorts.
