CJCXMADA FOUND IN TRANSLATION

Recently Cairo Jazz Club and Mada Masr teamed up to bring us Found in Translation, a project that has musicians interpret different texts as music. This time around, an ensemble composed of singer/songwriter Youssra El Hawary, Nancy Mounir, and Yasmine El Baramawy interpreted a text from Egyptian surrealist author Georges Henein’s manifesto Vive l’art degenere, which was signed by 31 artists in 1938. Do'souqa - ?????? opened up the evening.
