While The UAE’s nightlife has always revolved around excess, bank-breaking fashion statements and the most commercial of commercial music, one particular crew have been leading the way in Abu Dhabi when it comes to spot-on events.

Boogie Box, among only a handful of other promoters in the Emirates (mostly in Dubai) have been credited with helping establish a credible dance music community in the Gulf region. And by credible we mean top tier dance music bookings, on-point set ups and strategic locations.
Now closing in on their eighth year in business, founder Hassan Alwan and his team are stepping up their operation with more releases on their record label and a fixed monthly party. For their next event on Thursday the 22nd of February they’re inviting BPitch Control artist and Neverwhere boss Camea for her Abu Dhabi debut.

The German DJ and producer earned her stripes in the industry over many years. She started Clink records in 2005 while in New York, which soon became a staple brand in the minimal realm of dance music. She released on more iconic labels like Soma and M-nus and recently made waves across the scene by continuing to tour while nearly seven months into her pregnancy.
It’s pretty hard to imagine the fact that artists who regularly play venues like Tresor, Katerblau and Panorama Bar are now regular fixtures in such a commercial metropolis like the UAE, but thanks to the guys at Boogie Box, this is now a reality.

So make sure you head down to Yas Beach this Thursday to catch Camea live in action along with a warm up from Boogie Box resident Tristan Gault and visuals from their long time VJ and collaborator Tata Krajta. The venue will feature an interactive art space courtesy of Blank Canvas, not to mention free transportation from NYU to Yas Beach and back. Our guess is a lot of clubbers will have a hard time being anywhere else that night.
